Every professional learning session is an opportunity to inspire, engage, and empower—but too often, unintentional facilitator habits get in the way. This interactive session explores small but powerful facilitator moves that create a more inclusive, dynamic, and effective learning experience. We’ll examine common but ineffective habits we’ve been conditioned to use, replace them with research-backed strategies, and practice applying them in real time. From crafting an engaging opening to using paraphrasing techniques that validate and deepen participant contributions, to using the microphone with intention, each move is designed to create a more welcoming and impactful space. Participants will leave with practical tools they can immediately apply to elevate their facilitation and strengthen engagement in any learning environment.
